The history of The Fludyers

Step into history at The Fludyers, where our family lovingly restored one of Felixstowe's most iconic beachfront buildings to its former glory. Originally erected in 1903, with records tracing back to the presence of the Fludyer Arms since 1839, our establishment is steeped in rich heritage and tales of yesteryears.

During the tumultuous times of the Second World War, our building stood as a silent witness to history, with its strategic beachfront location prompting the installation of a machine gun in the restaurant in 1940.

In recent years, The Fludyers underwent a transformation, courtesy of Roseberry Developments. A modern extension seamlessly melds with the historic structure, while comprehensive restoration efforts have breathed new life into the original building.

Our commitment to preserving the legacy of The Fludyers is matched only by our dedication to providing exceptional service. Our experienced and enthusiastic staff continue to extend the same warm welcome that has graced our doors for over a century, now complemented by excellent new facilities that we believe our local community deserves and appreciates.

Join us on a journey through time, where tradition meets modernity against the backdrop of Felixstowe's stunning beachfront.
